Rohit Sharma Launches Cleanliness Campaign
Rohit Sharma, who is on the Indian Oil rolls, formally launched the 'Swachch Bharat Abhiyan' campaign. The official launch is on October 2, which is the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. Reported by: Press Trust of India Last updated on Tuesday, 30 September, 2014 21:42 IST Total SharesMumbai: India opener Rohit Sharma on Tuesday kickstarted the 'Swachch Bharat Abhiyan' in the state-run Indian Oil by cleaning the place with a broom along with top company officials at the firm's marketing division head office in suburban Bandra here.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his Independence Day address had sought people's participation in realising Mahatma Gandhi's dream of a clean India.
Sharma, who is on the Indian Oil rolls, formally launched the campaign.
The nation-wide campaign will officially be launched on October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
The state-run oil marketing firm is rolling out cleanliness drive across its country-wide marketing infrastructure and network of 40,000 customer touch points, including over 24,000 fuel stations and 7,000 LPG distributors.
